13. Troubleshooting and limits
13.1 Every hard limit, in one place

13.2 Messages, and what to do

GPS

13.3 Situations
"It is not counting distance." In order: location permission, GPS accuracy (the diagnostic names the rejection reason), whether you are paused, whether reverse is engaged, and whether the run was actually started.
"My distances are consistently short or long." That is what calibration is for, over a long leg. Chapter 7.
"The time pill is red and I am driving the right speed." Red means ahead of the ideal, so too fast for the schedule so far. Green is behind. Blue is on time.
"The pause button disappeared." You are on a Special Stage or Open Road part, where the timing is continuous.
"The app will not let me change roadbook." Not while a run is under way. You can still edit the one you are driving. 5.13.
"My tap did nothing at a boundary." If the row crosses automatically the app may have crossed it already. The chip is the confirmation.
"I crossed a control by mistake." If it was detectably early, the card offers an undo for a few seconds. If it was not, there is no way back, which is why the tap deserves deliberation.
"The averages disappeared." Hide average speed(s) is on. Current speed takes the slot they were in, so the dashboard is not left with a hole, and the setting also disables the speed selector and the independent average.
"The reset button does something unexpected." The independent average takes over that button, and it and quick restart exclude each other.
"My language change did nothing." It applies on a full relaunch. Use Restart now to apply.
"The app died mid-rally." On relaunch it offers to resume, and if it cannot, it confirms the track was saved.
13.4 Known constraints
- Only the selected part of a roadbook is driven. Multi-part books are not chained automatically.
- A road driven twice cannot be compared with itself inside a roadbook. That comparison exists only in Stage mode.
- iCloud never rewrites a route mid-drive. Remote edits apply on the next entry into Roadbook mode.
- Special Stage and Open Road override the speed selector and keep time elapsed-only.
- The look-ahead shows once per part, by design.
- Exported file text is English regardless of the app language.
13.5 Getting help
Settings ▸ About ▸ Send Feedback opens a support email, pre-filled with diagnostic information. Leave that block in place, and add what you were doing when the problem appeared. The build version is in the About section footer. If your device has no mail app, the same button opens the support portal in a browser instead, which needs no account. Long-pressing the app icon on the Home Screen and choosing Something wrong? opens the same pre-filled email.
